We would like to thank all our employees for their active support and say thank you for an impressive result, which is already something to be proud of. This day of good deeds has once again shown us how strong we are together as a team and with how much passion we dedicate ourselves to various projects. We would also like to thank the "Deutsche Wildtier Stiftung" (German Wildlife Foundation), who provided us with their expertise and advice at all times, and "Hafencity Hamburg", who made the area at Baakenhöft Park available to us. We are proud to have created a beautiful new piece of nature in HafenCity and are already looking forward to a colourful wildflower meadow and the "wild animal" visitors.
Social Day 2021 - Team Garbe swaps office outfit for dungarees
On 25 October 2021, Team Garbe dedicated itself to a very special "construction project" as part of the annual internal Social Day. In connection with the roots flagship project and at the suggestion of the German Wildlife Foundation, the employees of the Hamburg real estate project developer created a sustainable wildflower meadow in HafenCity.
Under the guidance of the gardening and landscaping company Windt & Schröder, Team Garbe took on a 400 m² lawn leased by HafenCity at Baakenhöft Park. After jointly digging up and removing the partly very steep areas, it was the task of the employees to carefully embed a whole 1,500 native wild shrubs in 200 m² of coconut netting. Besides lavender, oregano and yarrow, wild strawberries were also carefully transplanted on this day. In order to make the best possible use of the entire area, butterfly and wild bee hem was subsequently sown on unplanted areas. In spring 2022, a colourful flowering meadow is to be created on site, which will then be complemented by two high-quality wild bee hotels, which are currently still being produced.
