Letting is underway

A total of 232 flats were constructed on the Reuterbrücke site, which used to be the location of a well-known Bonn car dealership. The first 52 flats have now been handed over; the others will gradually follow before the end of 2017. Potential buyers can view a specially designed show flat. The owner has commissioned the house management firm Optima GmbH with letting the 55 to 122 square metre flats, all of which feature a garage parking space and a balcony. Letting is already underway. “We are very pleased to be able to expand our activities in the residential sector by adding a further attractive location with the Südstadtgärten project,” said Michael Vogt, Management Spokesman for mondial KVG. “The high number of rental requests that we have already received during the construction phase shows that the Südstadtgärten concept corresponds perfectly to the wishes of Bonn citizens,” added Vogt.

Citizens have a say

The site, which had already been assigned to the LRW, Loosen, Rüschoff + Winkler Architekten and Stadtplaner offices based on an architecture competition at the beginning of 2013, ran through a complex development plan, in which Garbe cooperated intensively with the newly established citizens’ initiative. With the participation of the initiative as well as all the planners, a tailor-made citizens’ participation that deviates from standard procedures was carried out in Bonn. The result is a residential district that allows for a wide range of neighbourhood-based activities thanks to the generous open spaces between the houses and a green public space within the complex.

The project marks the first time that the Cologne regional office of Hamburg project developer Garbe Immobilien-Projekte is involved in Bonn’s housing market. Another project is now under construction in Bonn Bad Godesberg. By acquiring the project, mondial KVG increases its investment volume in the residential property segment to over 200 million euros.
