This project has an ambitious goal: only half of the future residents should even need their own car.

"We are in the middle of a city of short distances. For many people it is no longer in keeping with the times to necessarily have their own car," explains Ivo Gotsche, head of the NRW regional office of GARBE Immobilien-Projekte GmbH. "With our idea for the GO, we are picking up on precisely this trend and at the same time showing the options of alternative mobility concepts."

In order to convince as many buyers as possible to do without their own cars, an attractive offer was needed. The developer provides its buyers with a total of five e-pedelecs, two of which are cargo bikes. Those who still need a car now and then can access the additional e-car that is parked in the garage. The entire mobility offer is booked via an app that is played on the new residents' mobile phones.

Anyone who brings their own electric vehicle can access the pre-equipment for charging the vehicles. To ensure uncomplicated charging, Garbe Immobilien-Projekte has installed a transformer from Stadtwerke Düsseldorf in the basement.

"The need of today's city dwellers for new ideas on mobility is becoming ever greater. This is also confirmed by the current sales figures," says Ramona Wilms, Sales Manager of Garbe Immobilien-Projekte GmbH in NRW. A quarter of the flats have already been sold or reserved.
The Düsseldorf office Konrath und Wennemar is responsible for the architecture. The design is characterised by three altans, which give the street façade support and rhythm. Crossing the front building, one enters a calm courtyard area that provides a car-free and protected space for residents to play, relax and interact.

"The core task of the project is exemplary for the building tasks of our time. Issues such as energy supply, mobility but especially the constantly evolving demands on our living environment determine the concept. A structural rejuvenation for the district - with a role model function," is how architect Harald Wennemar describes the project.

Completion is scheduled for mid-2023.
